Mumbai City FC likely to play against UAE champions

The Mumbai franchise could possibly play a friendly in Dubai before their first game against Atletico de Kolkata…

Mumbai City FC are in talks with UAE’s Al Ahli to play a practice match before the Indian Super League (ISL) season kicks-off on October 12, 2014.
Al Ahli are the reigning champions of UAE having won the 2013-14 league comfortably won with a gap of 16 points with the second placed Al Wahda. They are currently placed seventh in the league table after two rounds of matches.
It is reliably learnt that the Mumbai team are expected to leave for Dubai in the second week of October and following their practice match, head straight to Kolkata to play the opening game of the ISL against Atletico de Kolkata at the Salt Lake Stadium.
Mumbai City FC have so far played one practice game against Union Bank where they registered a 7-0 victory last week. They are to play Air India on Thursday evening at Father Agnel Ground, Navi Mumbai in their second practice match.
Meanwhile, Mumbai City manager Peter Reid has finally arrived late on Monday night and is expected to oversee the team’s training on Tuesday evening.
