A fan was arrested after invading the Upton Park pitch to take a free-kick during Tottenham Hotspur's 1-0 win at West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday.
The supporter made his unwanted contribution to the London derby on the opening day of the Premier League season when he sprinted from the stands onto the pitch as Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen was preparing to take a second half set-piece on the edge of the West Ham penalty area.
His shot was saved by West Ham's Spanish goalkeeper Adrian and the pitch invader was chased by a steward amid amused cheers from the crowd before he was finally apprehended.
Scotland Yard later said a 22-year-old man from Kent had been arrested for suspected pitch invasion.
He is currently in custody at an east London police station, a spokesman added.
